Are you being served?
Much is written daily in newspapers about the poor service being delivered to the tax payers by offices and departments that should know better. I, for one, have written about various issues in the past; about poor service and strange decisions.
Much is written daily in newspapers about the poor service being delivered to the tax payers by offices and departments that should know better. I, for one, have written about various issues in the past; about poor service and strange decisions. However, I must point out that my experience of the last two weeks has shown that there still exist people who perform their duty in a most professional manner, notwithstanding obstacles.
This very pleasant experience came about following my request to the Spanish Authorities to recognise my university degree obtained in 1986 in Malta.
The first office giving an excellent service was the Registrar's Office of the University of Malta who managed to trace for me a copy of the engineering syllabus for 1983 entry. This is no easy task when you consider that in those days computers were virtually non existent. My special thanks to Ms D. Armeni for her perseverance in the matter.
Next in line were the people from Qric in particular Ms M. Cachia from MOED and her colleague in the same office whose name I did not catch.
Their laborious search for the correct EU directive must have left them with a headache.
And lastly but not in the least, I would like to Thank Ms F. Amodeo from the Maltese Embassy in Spain and Mr N. Kerr, the Maltese representative at MEYE for their continual support in obtaining latest information from Commissioners in Brussels over this recognition issue.
I must say that I am most definitely impressed by the excellent service of all. Keep up the good work and thanks for your support.
