A host of Maltese basketball players were in action for their overseas teams last weekend.
Rebecca Brincat played two games for German team Wasserburg. In the first match against Evo New Basket Oberhausen, Wasserburg won 72-54, Brincat contributing with 19 points. In the second game, Brincat potted eight points as Wasserburg beat TV 1872 Saarlouis 77-75.
Josephine Grima, now on loan with Eriene Siracusa, made her third appearance in the match against Fontalba Messina. Grima was superb in Siracusa's 59-51 win, scoring 28 points. Another Maltese player, Antoinette Borg, turned out for Fontalba Messina.
Lee Ross is currently playing for the U-17 side of Stella Azzurra. His team won their opening two games.
FIBA commissioner Leonard Falzon and referees Bernard Vassallo and Gordon Barbara will officiate in Italy next week.
Falzon and Barbara will be in Schio for the FIBA Euro Cup game between Beretta Famila Schio and Extrugasa (Spain) on Nov. 7.
Vassallo will carry out refereeing duties in the Euro Cup Group J tie between Cras Taranto (Italy) and Hondarribia Irun (Spain).
