Officers from Germany's Federal Crime Office (BKA) raided the homes and laboratories of two doctors who once worked for the T-Mobile cycling team, the state prosecutor's office in Freiburg said yesterday.

The two doctors, Andreas Schmid and Lothar Heinrich, were suspected of producing performance-enhancing drugs and administering them to athletes, the state prosecutor's office said.

"It's too early to say whether anything was confiscated during the raid or what the doping substances might have been, as the investigation is still ongoing," said a spokesman for the state prosecutor's office.
