Local rock band Scream Daisy will release their long-awaited second album on Monday.

The be self-titled album comes five years after their best-selling album In Case of Emergency.

The new CD will contain a collection of 11 new songs and will include the band's most recent radio singles Bees and Pretty. The songs in this collection present a departure from the familiar pop-rock style that is usually associated with Scream Daisy. Instead the band has developed a sound that is more alternative.

"We are very happy to finally present our new CD after five long years. The band has seen a lot of transformations during this time but we finally found a line-up that works well. We wrote a good number of songs and finally selected these 11 since they best represent what we are today," said Jotham Saliba, lead singer of the band.

Once again Scream Daisy joined up with local producer David Vella at Temple Studios in Mistra to produce and record the album. Mr Vella produced Scream Daisy's first release and has been collaborating with the band since recording their first single Room 7 in 1999. Local artist Steven Scicluna created the original artwork for the CD.

The CD will be sold in major music outlets around the island and will also be available for digital download on the internet. The band will be performing at various venues in the coming months to promote the new release. More information about the band's activities can be found online at www.myspace.com/screamdaisy.
