Students at the Gozo College (kinder section) are the overall winners of the Best Language Practice of the Year Award 2007.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Maria Regina College Mellieha Primary School on October 19 to mark the European Day of Languages.

The winning entry featured a project entitled All Different All Equal. In this project, a true hymn to diversity, all the kinder classes in all 11 primary schools of the college (342 children in all) took a very active part. The children, very aptly prepared by their teachers, sang in 11 different languages and prepared cultural projects about the language they had chosen - in the majority of cases, a language spoken by at least one of the kinder children attending the school.

Many foreign parents also lent an invaluable hand.

The children donned the national costumes of the country they represented and waved flags in a tribute to diversity and to the spirit of collegiality that reigns at the Gozo College. The competition was open to all schools in Malta and Gozo.
