After a respite of nearly a month, a group of 29 illegal immigrants landed at Wied iz-Zurrieq at about 6.30 a.m. yesterday.

The police went to the spot after they received information that a boat with a number of people on board was approaching the area.

The group, consisting of 20 men and nine women, was rounded up by the police and taken to police headquarters for investigations.

The last arrivals before yesterday's were two groups totalling 55 immigrants who went ashore at Ghar Lapsi and Wied iz-Zurrieq on September 30.
