The return of the 10s!
Junior News now has the 10s that were exhibited at Art Academy, Mosta. If anyone would like their 10 returned please send us an A4 stamped addressed envelope.
Please note that only 10s that were exhibited can be returned.
Tens can only be returned during the month of October.
Animals need us
As you may have seen in The Times last week, Nature Trust would like us to think twice before supporting businesses which are cruel to animals and cause animals suffering, especially with the excuse that they are educational, like dolphinariums.
Selling animals which are not supposed to be pets is also wrong because these animals, caught in the wild, often panic or starve and die in cramped conditions before spending the rest of their lives in cages and surroundings in which they were never meant to live.
Adopting stray cats and dogs will bring you more real affection and joy than paying a fortune for a suffering, exotic animal ever could.
This year 300 Skolasajf students signed a declaration against animal cruelty and exploitation. And the Maltese islands are making progress in the attention given to animal welfare.
But there is still a very long way to go and you can do plenty and you can make a difference.
Contributions and entries
As we announced last month, we had so many entries to our Summer Special competition that we will be printing some of them as contributions, even though the competition is over, because we think it would be a shame for the senders and us, not to enjoy them.
The first one appears in our Once Upon a Time column below.
Thank you also to everyone in Year 6A, at Paola Primary School B, for lots of My Pet items.
This week you can read one of the poems. Other entries will also appear in Your Letters or as features because contributions for My Pet must include a clear photo, drawing or painting of the pet.
Have a great week
