Four runners from the Zurrieq Wolves Athletics Club recently travelled to Germany to take part in the renowned Berlin Marathon.
The athletes making the trip were Pawlu Camilleri, Cedric Pisani, George Scicluna and Doreen Vella.
The marathon attracted another bumper participation with around 40,000 runners on the starting line.
This year the winner was Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie who ran a perfect race in an impressive world record time of 2:04.26.
The Zurrieq Wolves runners in the Berlin Marathon registered encouraging times with Camilleri finishing in 273rd position overall following a time of 2:46.48.
This year, Camilleri was making his 10th consecutive appearance at the Berlin Marathon.
Pisani clocked 3:00.43 to finish in 1,126th position and Scicluna completed the distance in 3:54.58 for a 10,290th placing.
Vella's time was 3:09.53. She placed 90th in the women's category.
