As part of an on-going programme of enhancing its facilities, Ghabex, the Emergency Shelter for Women run by Agenzija Appogg has installed a portable swimming pool at its premises to provide children of victims of violence with activities and some relief during the summer months. This was done with the help of the HSBC Cares For Children Fund (HCCF).

The emergency shelter provides 24-hour crisis intervention to women and their children who are victims of domestic violence, and who need immediate protection.

Joe Gerada, chief executive officer of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, thanked HSBC and said such support was important because otherwise the agency would not be in a position to fund such projects.
