The fourth edition of the Malta Military Tattoo attracted 2,500 spectators at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) at, Ta' Qali, on Saturday and yesterday.
The first three editions were held in St George's Square, Valletta, but the bad weather last year had made organisers decide to shore up against such a risk. They opted for an indoor location and were proven right, given the rainy weather over the weekend.
The good turnout showed that the public seems to have accepted the new venue and it was likely the tattoo will be held at the MFCC in the coming years, organiser Alfred Busietta, from Stardom Promotion Agency Ltd, said.
The show's foreign participants were the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation; the Durham ACF Borneo Band from the UK and the Dutch Pipes and Drums Band with Highland Dancers.
Local participation included the Wallace Pipes and Drums, the First Hamrun Scout Band, EnKor Choir Malta, the Malta Police Precision Team, the Malta Police Band and the Armed Forces of Malta Band.
