Valentino Rossi has voiced dissatisfaction with his Yamaha in the build-up to today's Australian GP.

The Italian won the world title five years in a row from 2001 to 2005, three times with Honda and twice with Yamaha, but he missed out to Nicky Hayden's Honda in 2006 and Casey Stoner on a Ducati this season.

"I gave a lot of success to Yamaha in these past years, now I wait for something from Yamaha," Rossi told reporters.

"If nothing changes, I can look for another opportunity. Yamaha have to show me something now."

Rossi, 28, is due to become a free agent when his Yamaha contract runs out after the 2008 season.

"Yamaha have to understand the job I did for them, now I wait for a reaction because next year is the last year of my contract," Rossi said.

"If we want to win the title again then we need to put in more effort."

Rossi will start the Australian GP in second place on the grid, behind Dani Pedrosa and one spot ahead of Stoner.
