When I read the article titled "University Website redevelopment project" (The Sunday Times, September 30), I was rather puzzled as I could not find any reference to the most important news concerning this Website: it will finally have a Maltese version. Which means that visitors can finally choose the local language, like everywhere else in the world.
I cannot understand why so often issues concerning the Maltese language are omitted by your newspaper, while it much too often offers a platform to readers who are happy to publicly bash and denigrate their own beautiful mother tongue, a language into which not so few foreigners from all over the world, my humble self included, are investing time, energy, and money.
Incidentally, Air Malta's initial stubborn refusal to launch a Maltese version of its new Website and the subsequent pressure from the public - outcome still unknown - never made the news in your paper either.
