The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) is offering training courses on gender equality for the general public in various locations across Malta and Gozo.
In particular, regional training is scheduled between October 22 and 25. Such courses form part of the Taking Gender Equality to Local Communities project, co-funded by the Community Framework Strategy on Gender Equality (2001-2005).
These two-hour courses are of particular interest to members of local organisations, persons active in local communities, and post-secondary and tertiary level students. The themes to be covered during training include gender concepts as well as gender in relation to family issues, leisure, education, entrepreneurship, employment and decision-making.
Interested individuals are invited to complete an application form, which can be downloaded from www.equalityincommunity.com and sent to the NCPE by e-mail: equality@gov.mt or by fax: 2590-3851. Application forms can also be collected from local councils of Malta and Gozo.
The training courses are being offered free of charge, and availability of seats is limited. Personalised training courses for NGOs and other local organisations may be organised on request.
For further information, contact the NCPE on 2590-3850 or by e-mail at equality@gov.mt.
