Seventeen foreign choirs from 13 countries and a Maltese choir will be taking part in the Malta International Choir Competition and Festival 2007 to be held between November 1 and 4.
The organisation has been entrusted to a joint venture between Interkultur Foundation, an association specialising in the holding of choir festivals worldwide with headquarters in Pohlheim, Germany and the Ministry for Tourism and Culture.
Countries represented include Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.
The choirs will be judged by an international panel of jurors consisting of three foreign and two Maltese musicians.
Interkultur Foundation organises the Musica Mundi events, with a total of 2,800 choirs from 75 countries taking part in competitions to date.
