Renzo Spiteri will be performing with marimba and vibraphone artiste Dan Moore in theatres across five states in the US mid-West.

Their three-week tour kicks off in the middle of this month and is part of their collaborative inter-cultural project called Intersections: The Art Of Duo.

As a visiting guest artiste, Mr Spiteri has also been invited to deliver master classes and clinics in the percussion programme of the University of Iowa, with particular emphasis on West African and Mediterranean musical heritage.

Intersections: The Art Of Duo was launched last January and is the result of a music exchange programme between Musiconnect (Malta) and the University of Iowa, in partnership with the US Embassy.

The duo's first concerts will be played in Iowa City and will end at the historic Player's Theatre in New York City.

Throughout his 25-year career as a musician and creative artiste, Mr Spiteri has worked within a broad variety of musical perspectives across a wide range of artistic fields. His participation in cross-cultural exchanges and collaborations have led him to perform alongside world-class artistes including Trilok Gurtu, Joji Hirota, N'faly Kouyaté and Mercan Dede.
