Heritage Malta has launched a number of educational programmes related to Caravaggio as part of the Caravaggio L'Immagine Del Divino exhibition at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta.
The educational activities consist of tailor-made programmes catering for different age groups. Starting on Sunday, regular workshops on various themes related to the Caravaggio Experience will be held. The first workshop will take place between 2 and 4 p.m. and will focus on St Francis and the natural environment in the works of the artist.
Heritage Malta has launched a full-colour workbook which includes biographical information, explanations on Caravaggio's techniques and various creative educational tasks which can be carried out at the exhibition halls.
Young visitors can also avail themselves of a guided session during which they can carry out the tasks within these workbooks as part of the workshops.
Children are to be accompanied by an adult. Block tickets, allowing entry to two adults and two children to the exhibition are also available. These cost Lm9 (€20.96), saving more than 30 per cent on the regular admission fee.
Throughout the exhibition, schools will be able to organise visits that will give children the opportunity to experience the work of the great painter.
All those taking part in these school visits will get a copy of the Caravaggio educational workbook.
