The Committee of EU Permanent Representatives has approved recommendations by the government for changes in the composition of the Maltese delegation on the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR).

The changes had to be made following the election of a new committee of the Maltese Local Councils Association.

Labour's Santa Lucija mayor, Fredrick Cutajar, has been approved as a full member of the CoR replacing Birkirkara's deputy mayor Doris Borg who is now an alternate member.

Following the resignation of PN councillors Joe Borg and Paul Buttigieg, the EU representatives also approved the nomination of Labour councillor Maria Natoli as alternate member of the CoR.

Malta is represented at the CoR with five members and five alternate members.

The CoR is the voice of regional and local authorities in the EU.
