Olive trees have been planted at the Council of Europe Gardens in Gzira as part of HSBC Bank Malta's commitment to allocate Lm70,000 (€163,056.14) to assist all local councils in Malta and Gozo.
HSBC's new initiative is helping in the realisation of various small-scale projects and programmes at local community level. These relate to projects involving children, education, preserving cultural heritage, and embellishing public community areas. The bank is giving every local council in Malta and Gozo a contribution of Lm1,000 (€2329.37) for their initiatives.
"This is an example of how HSBC wants to assist local communities on projects that really matter," Alex Mizzi, HSBC Malta's central area director, said. "HSBC believes in participating in local initiatives that are important to the Maltese, in the meantime truly ensuring the commitment of being The World's Local Bank."
