Spinola Garden

Before the construction of Spinola Garden, one could see large billboards on the site showing an artist's impression of the garden with predominantly majestic fountains at its entrances.

After the inauguration, one could admire the graceful fountains that were constructed symmetrically in front of two of the garden entrances. The fountain spouts were constructed in parallel to each other giving a sense movement to the otherwise very static and formal arrangement of the same garden.

A few weeks after the inauguration, the fountains were turned off and never turned on again.

It is true that the fountains' construction without basins could give rise to water splashing on the paving, but a solution could be found. Basins could be constructed so the spouts would be immersed in water.

One hopes the fountains will be working soon, giving the garden a greater sense of life which, after all,, was one of its main features in its original design.
