Preparing for the euro?

In view of the advent of the euro and the justified price awareness instituted by the government I would like to raise anomalies involving three particular consumer products at a particular supermarket in Mosta.

The original price for Elite tuna (small package) was six for Lm1. The new price is Lm1.24. The original price for Flora margarine 500 grams was 76c; the new price is 88c (increase of 12 cents). Tetley decaffeinated tea bags (40 bags) was originally priced at 92c but is now selling at Lm1.13.

As consumers we appreciate the opportunity given to us by the government to monitor consumer prices. We look forward to seeing that all importers are held accountable for their prices and that any anomalies are rectified, as was announced recently for imported medicinals.
