It is a pleasure to hear that negotiations are going on with low-cost operators, mainly with Veuling and www.Norwegian.no airlines for the Madrid and Oslo route.

If the negotiations are successful, then it is natural that Air Malta will pull out from the Oslo route, as it seems that Air Malta does not have the capacity and ability to have a high load factor to make it a profitable route all year round.

When will negotiations on a serious business plan for the second and third largest low-cost operators in Europe start?

Over a year ago, Easyjet negotiations failed. Is there the momentum to start negotiations on a serious note? It is the second largest low-cost carrier across Europe with over 14 bases. What are the authorities waiting for? Why can't they be competitive enough to act quility, so we won't lose market share where no airlines operate in such airports to Malta?

Easyjet could be given the Stansted airport if it demands the London route. But what are the benefits if it must operate on the Belfast, Dortmund, Basel/Mulhouse and Geneve airports on a year-round basis?

I have had enough of one weekly flight to London Stansted (although sometimes British Jet operates to this airport). Why can't this low-cost airport be operated by Easyjet where it has its largest base there? So instead of once weekly as it is now, it would be daily where customers would be better able to choose dates according to their needs.

Malta already lost the third largest low-cost airline from Germany. Air Berlin used to operate to Malta from Nuremberg. Malta cannot risk to lose more airlines. Why can't the authorities also focus on these two giant low-cost airlines? If they start to operate to Malta, I'm sure that everyone will benefit, including Air Malta, as it needs to adapt to the current foreign market.

MHRA, MTA and other authorities need to work together to get these two giant low-cost airlines to Malta.
