New season at Football Frenzy

The new season at the Football Frenzy Soccer School kicks off tomorrow after another successful and exciting year. The Summer Academy came to an end recently after a 10-week course where the 160 participating children learned various skills based on studies by the English FA mainly.

Football Frenzy had their own football scout, Alan Williams, visiting Malta again recently. During the Summer Academy he spotted six talented young players who will be flying to England soon for trials at professional clubs.

Another nine boys and a girl have been earmarked for the near future, a school statement said.

Williams is the same scout who was behind James Paris's move to Manchester City. In July, two other boys who attended the soccer school, and also spotted by Williams after recommendations by Jon Mottershead, were sent to Bristol City for a week's trial and did very well.

Football Frenzy recently set up their own English Academy, run by Mottershead and Wayne Peart.

Already they have had matches against the academies of Brentford, Plymouth Argyle, Swindon and Eastleigh.

Williams will be visiting Football Frenzy in Malta at least three times during the forthcoming season.

"There are some excellent young players in Malta who, with more guidance and assistance, can do well abroad," Williams was quoted as saying in the Football Frenzy statement.
