I refer to the letter Dark Area (September 28). The correspondent, Joseph Paul Pavia, is either a summer resident or has not lately gone for a walk along the promenade.
Since the present ornamental lights were declared obsolete, it was agreed with Enemalta Corporation that they be replaced by whip type poles. So far, nine poles have already been changed and so the promenade is lit up.
On the other hand, another 98 new ornamental lights are to be fixed on the existing railing and this in order to light up the promenade and also the coastline below. These not only embellish the promenade but also deter certain abuses associated with the dark.
