A number of information panels on Wied Ghollieqa - one of the sites managed by Nature Trust - have been sponsored by the Alfred Mizzi Foundation, the environmental NGO said yesterday.

Groups of schoolchildren visit the valley and the Wied Ghollieqa Environment Centre every day, according to Nature Trust.

At the centre, they are made aware of the importance of protecting the country's natural heritage and are taken round the reserve and shown how to identify indigenous trees, other fauna and flora.

This panels will contribute to enhancing environmental education and provide additional information to visitors.

Nature Trust is calling on other companies to contribute towards improving the environment.
