Last Tuesday, September 25, the first heavy rain showers for this autumn, in Dahlet Qorrot, Nadur's small fishermen's port, could have caused a serious accident.

A number of heavy rocks collapsed from the cliff situated just above the caves where the local fishermen store their fishing tools. This caused part of the wall enclosing the road to collapse and the way to the caves is blocked.

Moreover, a stairway leading to just underneath the road is blocked. This situation is a serious threat to all the people who visit the place because several cracks in the cliff are evident. Last year, another heavy rock fell and caused some damage roughly in the same area.

The authorities concerned should act immediately by giving their reassurance that there are no more threats of falling rocks from the cliff as this could cause fatal accidents and also by disposing of the fallen rocks in a reasonable way and ensuring that the beauty of the port is not shattered.
