Accused of importing slot machines

Two shop managers were charged with importing slot machines without a licence and allowing illegal gambling to take place.

Brendan Galea, 24, and Pierre Cremona, 34, both of Fgura, pleaded not guilty to allowing gambling at Espadon, in Tarxien, when they did not have a licence in June last year.

Police Inspector Frans Micallef prosecuted.

Lawyer Kris Busietta appeared for the accused.
