War veterans from various countries will be visiting Malta to remember the men and women of the Royal Navy and Allied coastal forces who were based on HMS Gregale during World War II.

A commemorative plaque will be unveiled at the Ta' Xbiex Marina on Saturday at 11.30 a.m. This is part of a programme being organised by the Coastal Forces Heritage Trust in coordination with the Ta' Xbiex local council.

The activity will include a memorial service and an animation of Operation Pedestal, the British operation to get desperately needed supplies to Malta in August 1942, during World War II.

The public, especially war veterans, are invited to attend.
