Production house files counter protest

A media production house has filed a counter protest denying allegations that it had made use of a tune without authorisation.

Clare Agius Media Productions termed allegations made by 26th Frame Ltd as "absolutely unfounded".

Last week, 26th Frame filed a protest against Clare Agius Media Productions and Alan Pace who runs Active Zone and Fitness Club.

26th Frame claimed Mr Pace was promoting his business with a television advert that made use of the music tune called Closing Score.

This tune was the signature theme of the TV series Pupi, screened on Net TV and produced by 26th Frame.

In its protest, 26th Frame added that Mr Pace was claiming he was not responsible for the advert as he had commissioned Clare Agius Media Productions to produce it for him.

In the counter protest filed yesterday, Clare Agius Media Productions argued that, when it had produced the advert for Mr Pace, a different tune had been used.

However, the music had then been changed and Clare Agius Media Productions had no control over this and was not notified about the change.

Lawyer Antonio Tufigno signed the counter protest.
