A man was yesterday charged with threatening police officers and trying to assault them in Rabat.

Neville Abela, 25, pleaded not guilty to trying to assault various police officers, threatening them and ignoring their orders, yesterday at 5.30 a.m.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500.

Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted.

Lawyer Patrick Valentino appeared for Mr Abela.
