Ronaldinho: Ronaldinho missed Barcelona's match against Sevilla in the Nou Camp last night with a muscle injury, the Primera Liga club said. "The player finished training on Friday with a calf muscle strain in his right leg and it has continued to be a problem today," the club said. "The Brazilian is out of the Sevilla game and in the next few days we will see how he recovers to see if he will be available for the coming matches."

Defoe: Jermain Defoe has been left out of Tottenham's squad for this afternoon's Premier League match at Bolton today despite his brace in the 6-1 UEFA Cup win over Anorthosis Famagusta on Thursday. Defoe, 24, had also failed to make the squad for the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last weekend. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants the England international to sign a new contract to avoid losing him for nothing but there has been no agreement.

Rivas: Inter defender Nelson Rivas was taken ill during training yesterday and did not make the trip to Livorno. The Colombian is reported to have recovered swiftly, but doctors advised him to rest as a precautionary measure. Rivas impressed in his debut for Inter during Wednesday's Champions League 1-0 defeat at Fenerbahce.

Doni: Cristiano Doni has extended his contract with Atalanta until 2009, club president Ivan Ruggeri announced yesterday. There were fears the captain would walk out on the club after an argument with Ruggeri, but yesterday afternoon the two parties agreed to put pen to paper. "We hope that Cristiano will continue to play for a long time yet. It would mean he is in good shape and Atalanta need a player like him," Ruggeri said.
