After a gap of some years since the local Subaru agent had a super-mini in its range, Liaco last week launched the Justy at its showroom in Mosta Road, Lija.

Liaco director Tonio Lia said Subaru is focusing its models more on the European market, where it sees the potential to gain market share. New models expected in Malta include the lower medium Impreza and a horizontally opposed Boxer Diesel, a world exclusive.

The Justy, according to sales executive Norbert Vella, is the successor of the successful J10 of the Nineties (a mini-car, to be precise), of which Liaco sold over 5,000 units.

Powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine boasting 68 bhp, 94 Nm of torque and returning 65 mpg (with 103 g/km), the Justy is the result of a joint co-operation between Toyota, Daihatsu and Subaru. Subaru, in fact, buys the Justy through an OEM agreement from Daihatsu.

The new model fits in with the Subaru motto 'Think, Feel, Drive'. The specification includes central locking with remote, power steering and radio CD. Prices start from Lm5,600.
