I would like to thank Silvio Scicluna of the Malta Embellishment and Landscaping Project (Shooting Of Night Heron, September 19) for trying to enlighten me and take me out of my state of confusion, however, I am even more confused.
Can Mr Scicluna define "perimeter". Can he be more clear? Was the heron found inside or outside the gardens? According to The Times (August 31) an injured night heron was found in the gardens of San Anton Palace. In, to me, means inside.
Also, Mr Scicluna decided to look into the matter only after my letter to The Times. Can I ask him why he did not look into the matter when the news was splashed across all the front pages of the day?
I reiterate that a bird in the condition as described in the newspapers could never fly or even glide for a few feet. So was it shot on the "perimeter"? Were any gunshots reported from the area to the police on the day? As far as I know San Anton Palace is in a residential area and any gunshots would have created a panic. After all this is the President's palace !
