The traditional British pint which dates back to 1824 will not be phased out after all.

The EU executive gave the green light to all British and Irish pubs to continue serving beer in pints after 2009 when the pint was to be replaced by litres.

We sincerely hope that Malta will continue to use the much-loved pint.

A statistician that frequents The City of London Bar worked out that an estimated three-and-a-half million pints have been served in the last 93 years since the pub opened in 1914.

Retaining the pint is wonderful news for beer drinkers worldwide. Well done to British Eurosceptics and the media who campaigned against the removal of the pint.
