WasteServ has issued an upbeat song called Waste Matters sung by Thea Saliba.

The song is another in a series of initiatives by the waste management agency to promote waste separation and a clean environment.

The lyrics and music were written by Ms Saliba. The Maltese version is called Dinja Nadifa.

The lyrics explain how to use Bring-In Sites and encourages listeners to reduce, reuse and recycle.

The song is part of a project co-financed by the European Social Fund, under which 28 unemployed persons were trained in how to separate waste.

They are now visiting households explaining how this should be done. This programme has been, to date, a success story, and about 15,000 families have been visited, WasteServ said.
