3D at Dwejra

The small community of San Lawrenz is currently busy preparing a unique festival 3D - At Dwejra, from Dusk till Dawn, which will take place on Friday and Saturday.

Voluntary workers have worked for a whole year to put the festival together and to make it a success. The San Lawrenz council has secured funds from the European Commission, the Ministry for Gozo and the Ministry for Tourism and Culture, as well as a number of sponsors.

One idea behind the event is to show the most beautiful bays of Gozo by means of guided walks and boat rides throughout the day, putting emphasis on its environmental peculiarities. The location will prove to be a different experience for its visitors by night, providing the most stunning backdrop for the numerous cultural activities that will take place.

From artistic exhibitions and readings of poetry to concerts, from mouth-watering local food to spectacular fireworks displays, the festival will be brimming with activities for audiences of all ages. Folklore songs will go hand in hand with music by the extremely popular group Tribali, Gozo's very own Chasing Pandora and the Maltese band, Bitterside.

The principle purpose of the 3D festival is to bring together generations, showing not only the traditional Gozo but also its modern facets. The festival will be accompanied by an international conference titled 'The European Identity: Discovering our Roots for a Better Future,' with the participation of two foreign towns, Colle Umberto from Northern Italy and another from France.
