The highlight of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Pembroke Athleta Football Nursery was the Holy Mass Archbishop Paul Cremona celebrated at the Pembroke Parish Church.
After mass, the St Michael Boys Scouts led the parade, which included Archbishop Cremona, nursery children, committee members, coaches, guests and parents, to the Pembroke Sports Club. Among the distinguished guests present for the occasion were Dolores Cristina, Minister of Family and Social Solidarity, Tonio Fenech, Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, and Joe Zammit, the Mayor of Pembroke.
The new artificial turf pitch at the Pembroke Sports Club was also officially opened and blessed by the Archbishop who kicked the first ball on the new surface in front of the enthusiastic children who then took part in a game of football.
