A man was jailed for eight months for harassing his former girlfriend when he threatened to kill her.

James Demanuele was also found guilty of forcing her to fear him, of harassment and relapsing on and before March this year.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli heard the woman explain that some time after being released from jail (following a previous conviction), Mr Demanuele started phoning her up on her mobile phone and threatening her.

For four months, he threatened he would manage to kill her and that although he would not stain his hands with blood he would administer the last blow.

On finding Mr Demanuele guilty as charged, the magistrate jailed him for eight months and ordered that the time spent in preventive custody be deducted from his jail term.

The court also bound Mr Demanuele not to harass the woman against a Lm100 fine in default.

Police Inspector Chris Pullicino prosecuted.
