The Times recently reported that a night heron was found at San Anton Gardens. I am a bit confused however.
The report said that "The night heron had two wounds, one in its stomach, while another shot practically severed its left wing from its body".
Now as far as I know no bird will be able to fly with a wing severed from its body. I do not think it walked into the gardens, so was it shot inside the gardens? Do the staff of San Anton have some explaining to do? Are the police investigating this matter?
As for the closing of the hunting season at 3 p.m. between September 15 and 31, it proves (to me at least) that the government and Minister George Pullicino are incompetent because they cannot control illegal hunting and have therefore found an easy way out (they think).
