An eight-year-old boy and both his parents suffered broken bones when they were involved in a traffic accident early yesterday morning.

The police said a 19-year-old from Mgarr lost control of the pick-up he was driving, crossed over the centre strip and crashed into the car in which the family of three was travelling.

The 36-year-old mother and the child were passengers in a Daewoo driven by the 38-year-old father. The police said the accident took place in Margaret Murray Street, Qawra at around 6.15 a.m.
