Another group of 28 illegal immigrants - 24 men and four women - arrived in Malta early yesterday morning.

They disembarked at Xatt is-Sajjieda, Marsaxlokk, in the area known as il-Maghluq at around 1.30 a.m., the police said.

District and mobile squad police went on site immediately after they were informed that illegal immigrants had probably landed there.

They first found a group of nine immigrants and then the rest, following a search.

Eighty-seven immigrants were escorted into Birzebbuga by the AFM the day before.
