Water Services Corporation chairman Michael Falzon yesterday filed a libel suit and a judicial letter claiming that the content of several articles, published in various media, were false and libellous.

Mr Falzon filed the libel suit against Labour MP Joe Mizzi and Alexander Farrugia as the editor of It-Torca over an article published on Sunday and entitled Ghaliex il-Perit Michael Falzon huwa allergiku ghall-awditur? (Why is architect Michael Falzon allergic to the auditor?).

Mr Falzon also filed a judicial letter against Labour party leader Alfred Sant and the editors of four news media.

The letter was filed against Dr Sant for a statement entitled Michael Falzon ma ghandux triq ohra ghajr li jirrizenja minn chairman tal-WSC (Michael Falzon has no choice but to resign as WSC chairman) published on the party's website.

The letter was also filed against Frans Ghirxi as the editor of L-Orizzont, Stephen Calleja as the editor of The Malta Independent, Alfred Grixti as the editor of maltastar.com and Miriam Dalli as the editor of One News. The four news items were based on Dr Sant's statement.

Lawyers William Cuschieri and Adrian Delia signed the writs.
