This rubble wall came crashing down across Triq il-Gmiel during the rainstorm of June 4. A contractor unable to pass through with his vehicle cleared aside the stones, allowing access for residents. The Swieqi local council was already aware of the fallen wall at a Madliena hamlet meeting they happened to call shortly afterwards.

Knowing how indifferent repeated Swieqi local councils have been to matters concerning Madliena, it comes as no surprise that three months on, the wall still lies there where it fell.

Will the authorities concerned please remove this dangerous eyesore? I will undoubtedly be reading in this paper of the council's Herculean efforts to have this wall repaired. In spite of anything they may say, the fact still stands that the wall doesn't.
