Recently during the evening news bulletin Heritage Malta's Emanuel Magro Conti informed us viewers that at the War Museum a George Cross exhibition was set up, probably to coincide with the feast of the Our Lady of Victories, where two George Cross insignia (medals) were put on public view. We were informed that in April 1942, not one, but two insignia were dispatched to Malta by different routes, probably to ensure that one would successfully be received on the Island during the siege conditions pertaining then.

Although I have been involved in research into the war years for more than 30 years with the National War Museum Association, this is the first time that such information has become known to me and probably to many others. Therefore it would be most welcome should Mr Magro Conti explain and divulge the source and story behind this "new" information so that 65 years after the event we may all be a bit wiser.
