The 2007 HSBC Malta National Dinghy Sailing Championships, organised by the Malta Sailing Federation, are being held on September 15-16.

Hosted by the Malta Young Sailors Club, this event will take place on the waters of St Paul's Bay.

Six classes of dinghies will be raced in these championships, namely, (1a) Optimist Class Open Division, (1b) Optimist Class Cadet Division - boys and girls born in 1995 or later, (2) Laser 4.7 - boys and girls born in 1988 or later, (3) Laser Radial, (4) Laser Standard Class, (5) any other one-design dinghy, and (6) Handicap class (PYS).

A minimum of four boats is required to form a class while only class dinghies conforming to class rules are eligible to race within that class. For the Laser and Optimist classes, the results of this regatta will count towards the Malta Sailing Federation national ranking lists.

Three to four races per day are planned but the Race Committee may change this schedule for weather conditions or any other reasons.
