Man assaulted wife and daughter

A 56-year-old man has been put on probation for three years after he admitted to assaulting and slightly injuring his wife and daughter on Sunday.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti heard how the man had an alcohol abuse problem and admitted to threatening, assaulting and injuring his wife and their daughter.

The magistrate put the man on probation for three years and bound him not to approach his wife and daughter for a year against a Lm100 fine in default. The man will no longer be residing with the victims.

The name of the accused is not being published to protect the identity of the victims.

Police Inspectors Mario Tonna and Nezren Grixti prosecuted.

Lawyer Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
