England clinched the one-day international series against India yesterday with a seven-wicket victory in the seventh match at Lord's.

India had levelled the series at 3-3 with wins at Headingley and at the Oval but their hopes of a remarkable comeback evaporated as they were bowled out for 187 after captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat.

England lost both openers for ducks but Ian Bell (36) and unbeaten half centuries from Kevin Pietersen (71) and Paul Colli-ngwood (64) guided them home.
