The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Employment, is offering a one-year programme for school leavers who have been assessed as having a moderate intellectual impairment.

The programme will teach independent living skills and will give students the opportunity to sample areas of vocational interest to them. The programme will explore the possibility, where suitable, of following modules in one of Mcast's institutes.

This one-year programme will be open to students who completed secondary education at fifth form in June 2007, and have been assessed by the appropriate professionals as having a moderate intellectual impairment.

It is expected that these students will interact and participate in group activities and possess basic literacy and numeracy skills. Each student will undergo an interview that will assess whether s/he would benefit from the Pathway to Independent Living Programme.

Calls of application will be available at www.mcast.edu.mt and/or from the Mcast offices at Corradino from Monday.

The closing date for applications is September 17. Interviews will then be held to select suitable candidates.

Further information may be obtained by calling on 2143 2754 or by e-mail at inclusiveducation@mcast.edu.mt.
