An airport employee was yesterday charged with trying to steal from a passenger's luggage on Tuesday night.

Magistrate Anthony Vella heard 27-year-old Antonio Caruana, of Gzira, plead not guilty to attempted theft at Malta International Airport.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police Inspector Jason Agius prosecuted.

Lawyer Noel Bianco was defence counsel.
