Over the past couple of years LOL productions have brought over to Malta a selection of top line standup comedians - and they are at it again. Their eighth and latest in the series of XFM Standup Comedy Shows brings over three top comedians from London's comedy circuit. Alistair Barrie, Mitch Benn and Nick Wilty. All three will be appearing at The Oracle Conference Centre - Dolmen Resort Hotel, Qawra on September 29 and 30.
Alistair Barrie is a comparative newcomer to the standup circuit, but already he has made a name for himself all over the UK as well as Australia the US and many European venues. He has also performed two critically acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh festival and has appeared frequently on both television and radio.
Mitch Benn began his comedy career in Edinburgh in 1994. He then moved to London in 1996 and quickly established himself as a comedy club headliner. These days he is not only one of the most sought-after acts on the comedy circuit but is widely acknowledged as one of the best writer/performers of comic songs in the UK. He has also worked extensively overseas, in places as diverse as Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Ireland, Canada, Holland and South Africa. He has won the Mercury Comedian of the Year prize at the Leicester Comedy Festival and has performed numerous times at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Nick Wilty has performed on every continent except Antarctica and has appeared in all the major comedy festivals including Edinburgh, Glastonbury and Montreal. He has won lots of prestigious awards including the Polo Mint Comedy Award, voted by fellow comedians and club owners in England, and Best International Act in San Francisco.
