The Public Health Department has again banned bathing in Balluta Bay, St Julians, until further notice.

Health warning signs indicating the exact zones where bathing is not recommended have been put up.

The bay was declared unfit for swimming from August 13 to 28 following a sewage outflow. The Water Services Corporation and the Health Department could not agree who was to blame for the problem and are in fact battling the issue out in court.

The WSC is insisting that a system failure occurred in private sewer connections and that it could not carry out repairs in such cases.
